Car accident claims
Process after a car accident
1. According to California law, if the following situations occur, the police will report to the police within 24 hours, and the police will issue an accident report to determine responsibility
2. Collect evidence at the scene of the accident (photo of the vehicle, the driver of the other party, the identity of the vehicle owner and insurance information)
3. Hire professional lawyers to handle claims
4. According to California law, if the following situations occur, fill in the HYPERLINK "https://dmv.ca.gov/portal/uploads/2020/05/sr1.pdf" SR-1 form within 10 days and report it to DMV I. Someone is injured II. Someone dies III. Property damage exceeds $1,000
5. If you are injured, please go to the hospital in time and keep medical records and receipts
6. Contact the insurance company to settle the claim. No matter who is at fault, you must first contact your insurance company. If the other party is at fault, contact the other party's insurance company, and the other party's insurance claim adjuster will determine the damage to the vehicle and then compensate. In the event of personal injury, whether the insurance company will compensate depends on whether the insurance purchased by the accident party covers it. If you want to seek compensation for personal injury or have any questions about compensation from an insurance company, please consult a lawyer.
